Abstract. The analysis of statistical data about failures of tractive engines of electric locomotives is carried out. The theoretical distribution law of run of electromotors to the full, most precisely appropriate to statistical data is defined. Outputs are drawn on feasibility of application of the found normal distribution law for support of rational use of service life of the equipment of an electric locomotive and an electrorolling stock as a whole.
